        Heatless Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AAWG) module is a kind of dense wavelength division multiplexer based on PLC (Planar Waveguide) technology, which can support more channels than DWDM made by TFF (Thin Film Filter) technology.
        Heatless Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AAWG) modules, which use mechanical compensation to minimize the effect of wavelength drift caused by temperature changes in the chip, do not require additional power supply, and have high stability and reliability performance. Structurally, the AAWG module is composed of six parts on the main body, including single-channel input FA, chip, multi-channel output FA, compensation base, compensation lever and locking knob, and package housing, as shown in Figure 1.

        Composition details:
        Chip is the core of the array waveguide grating function realization, its structure mainly contains the following five parts, see Figure 2.

        ① input waveguides (input waveguides): receive external wavelength signals;
        ② input star coupler (star coupler): also known as flat waveguide, the wavelength signal coupled to the array waveguide;
        ③ array waveguide (grating waveguides): wavelength signal transmission, the length of the waveguide in order to increase ΔL, through the optical signal to produce a fixed optical range difference, equivalent to the role of the grating;
        ④ output star coupler (star coupler): also known as flat waveguide, the diffracted wavelength signals focused into the output waveguide (interference principle, similar to Young's double-hole interference);
        ⑤ Output waveguides: Distribute different wavelength signals to the receiver.
