H3C Switch Password Recovery By Ignoring Current Configuration

When the Console login password of H3C switch is forgotten, if the password recovery function is on (the default state is on), you can choose to ignore the current configuration of the system to start or temporarily clear the current configuration of the system to start the Console port login authentication password; if the password recovery function is off, you can only restore the factory settings to solve the problem.
Moduletek Labs takes the H3C S5120-20P-SI switch as an example to show you how to recover the password if you ignore the current configuration of the system to log in the device.
1. Connect the serial port, reboot the switch, and press "Ctrl+B" in time to enter the BootRom mode when the following printout message appears on the interface;
2. Enter the main menu of BOOT, the first message will show whether the device enables the password recovery function, make sure that the status is enable; select "Skip current system configuration", in this case, option 7, skip the current system configuration, the device will be in factory configuration (only effective this time);
3. The system will prompt the successful configuration, when the BOOT menu appears again, select "Reboot", reboot the device;
4. After the completion of the boot system directly into the user mode, the device configuration is empty, the user can be configured in the system view to restore the original startup configuration, such as do not want to restore, directly skip this step.
5. Configure the new Console login authentication mode and password in the system view and save it to complete the password recovery.
